The Brightest Light

Written by Pastor Lloyd Bustard on Thursday, 16 June 2011.

In the Broadway play Phantom of the Opera there is a song called ‘music of the night' which speaks volumes to how darkness increases temptation. In the dark night evil plots are hatched and carried out, while the mind invents incredible justifications.

One author wrote, "when everything is done only for the sake of appearances, the human mind becomes a factory of manipulated reasons to justify the horrendous.’ There’s something about darkness that causes us to make new truths and when daylight comes we wonder what possessed us to create such a manipulated mindset.

Half a century ago humanist writer Aldous Huxley said he wanted the world to have no meaning.  As he said, if he was freed from meaning he basically could run in an out of control stupor, drunk off his own perverse revelation of a definition of life where anything goes.

This by the way is the reason why the world doesn't want God operating in the public places, (i.e. Ten Commandments.)

The Bible says 'we distort the truth to suit ourselves.' The word of God makes it clear that we are created to conform to the image of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. (Rms.8;29 2.Cor.3;18)

Jesus Christ is the blueprint for our life, and the word of God is the proof and truth that set us free! So each one of us must recognize and confess who He is and follow and receive Him as our only savior. If we don't, then we rob ourselves of having a point of reference, value, and most of all eternal salvation.

David said Ps.27;1 'The Lord is my light and my salvation. Jesus said in John 8;12 ‘I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'

It’s a privilege to serve you,
