Investing Long Term

Abraham Lincoln said “it’s not who my ancestors were that is important, it’s what my children and grandchildren will become.” This statement is full of wisdom and principle and what I glean as the urgent point from this is - let go of your past. It doesn’t matter what side of the street you grew up on, whether your father was good or bad to you is not the point. With all due respect, the real important question is, where do you go from here?

One day, if you’re not already, you will be a father, mother, grandfather or grandmother. Your future is the matter of the moment and the issue you should be most concerned about.
I will impress and influence three generations - my children, their children, and their children. Even when I’m dead and gone, I will be influencing them in a negative or positive way.

So from here on out my focus is to live my life for Christ that will bring Him glory, and leave my footprints and testimony for my children and grandchildren to walk in, and be encouraged from.

One of the great laws of life is to think long term - from managing your finances to cultivating your marriage. Commit for the long haul!

Take some time to read and pray about ‘Deuteronomy 6:1-2.’

It’s a privilege to serve you,

Pastor Lloyd

About the Author

Pastor Lloyd Bustard

Lloyd was born in Canada, where his parents cared and provided for nineteen children. Trying to deal with the death of his father, during his teenage years, Lloyd resorted to a lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, and rock-n-roll. Miraculously God delivered him and he began ministering under a dynamic, inspirational anointing. This ministry led him to a church in Pascagoula, Mississippi where he met his wife, Pam. They have been married for twenty five years and have three beautiful children. They now reside in North Carolina where Lloyd and Pam pastor World Worship Church. Lloyd is a worshipper of Jesus Christ. This is clearly seen, heard, and felt through the praise and worship songs which he writes and sings.
